1898, oh. 528'. 1920 Code, sec. 182.

155. For the purpose of redeeming said bonds at their maturity and
for securing the prompt payment of the interest thereon, the said Mayor
and City Council are hereby empowered and directed to apply all net
income arising from water rents and the use of the sewerage system, after
paying all necessary expenses for maintaining the sewerage system, and a
proper and sufficient supply of water, and for betterments and repairs,
first to the payment of the interest on said bonds, and secondly as to the
remainder, if there be any, the same to be invested in a sinking fund for
the payment of said bonds as they respectively mature; the coupons on
said bonds shall be receivable by said Mayor and City Council in pay-
ment of taxes due to said city. In the event that the net amount received
from said water rents and sewerage system, after deducting the aforesaid
expenses referred to in this section, shall not be sufficient in amount to pay
the interest on said bonds and the principal thereof as it shall become due,
the said Mayor and City Council shall annually levy on the taxable prop-
erty of said city such sums of money as shall, in their discretion, be neces-
sary for the prompt payment of the interest on said bonds and the prin-
cipal thereof, when the same may become due, and any surplus on hand at
any time arising from such levy shall be by the said Mayor and City
Council invested in some safe securities as a sinking fund, which shall
not at any time be diverted from the purposes of this Act.

156. From and after the 10th day of April, 1910, all rents accruing
and becoming due and payable to the Mayor and City Council of Ocean
City for water furnished by said Mayor and City Council from the
municipal waterworks system shall be deemed and considered and are
hereby declared to be a tax lien on the property for which the said water
is supplied, and shall be collectible as other taxes are collectible in said
Ocean City.

157. The Synepuxent Pier and Improvement Company, Inc., a body
corporate of the State of Maryland, is hereby authorized and permitted to
erect, construct, operate and maintain a pier at Ocean City, at such loca-
tion and of such specifications as to it may seem best, extending from the
westerly side of Atlantic Avenue in said Ocean City and running across
said Atlantic Avenue easterly into and on the Atlantic Ocean; provided
the said body corporate obtain the approval and consent of the Mayor and
Council of Ocean City, a municipal corporation and of the War Depart-
ment of the United States and of the persons owning property on which
the said pier abuts.

158. The County Commissioners of Worcester County are authorized
