Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof before any justice of the
peace of said Anne Arundel County, shall be fined one dollar for each
such offense, together with the costs of prosecution, and on failure to pay
said fine and costs shall be committed to the county jail of said Anne
Arundel County for not more than thirty days; the fine so collected shall
be paid to the Board of County School Commissioners of said county for
the public school fund of said county.

476. Any person may impound any horse, mule, cow, calf, horned cat-
tle, sheep or swine found going at large in the limits of the Third Election
District and the Second Election District of Anne Arundel County, and
any swine found going at large in the limits of the Fifth Election District
of Anne Arundel County, and the owners of such horse, mule, cow, calf,
horned cattle, sheep or swine on reclaiming the same shall pay at the rate
of fifty cents per head for every twenty-four hours or fractional part
thereof, such horse, mule, cow, calf, horned cattle, sheep or swine may

have been impounded, and any horse, mule, cow, calf, horned cattle,
sheep or swine so impounded shall be advertised by notice, printed or
written, set up at two of the most public places in said district in which
they are impounded.

477. If any horse, mule, cow, calf, horned cattle, sheep or swine shall
remain so impounded for five days after notice given as aforesaid, the
party so impounding it or them may sell the same at public auction after
two days' notice, as provided in the preceding section, for the payment of

costs and expenses, including the said fifty cents per day, or fractional
part thereof.

478. All disputes arising between the owner or owners of any horse,
mule, cow, calf, horned cattle, sheep or swine, and the person impounding

same, shall be determined by a justice of the peace of said county, who
may summon witnesses and decide the matter in controversy.

479. It shall be unlawful for any owner of stock or swine to allow the
same to run at large on any private or public property in the Third Pre-
cinct of the Fifth Election District of Anne Arundel County, and any
person whose stock or swine are found running at large in said precinct
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine
of five dollars and costs for each offense; such fines and costs shall 'be re-

covered before any justice of the peace in said precinct as other fines are
recovered, and shall be distributed as follows: Half of such fine to the
informer, and the balance shall be turned over to the County Commission-
