cise within the Sanitary Districts, and nothing in this Act shall apply to

454. The First Precinct of the Fifth Election District of Anne Arun-
del County is hereby exempted from the operation, effect and provisions
of Chapter 245 of the Acts of 1922, entitled, an Act to create certain
sanitary districts in Anne Arundel County.

455. All money received by the Sanitary Commission, created by said
Act, on account of the "Brooklyn Sanitary District," as laid out by said
Commission, and which is within the bounds of the said First Precinct
of the Fifth Election District, from the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County, on account of roads, as required by Section 23 of Chap-
ter 245 of the Acts of 1922, and not used in the said "Brooklyn Sanitary
District," as required by said section, be accounted for and returned by
the said Sanitary Commission to the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County, and to be applied by them to the roads in the Fifth
Ejection District of said county.

456. The Board of County School Commissioners for Anne Arundel
County shall meet for organization on the first Tuesday in August, eight-
een hundred and ninety-eight, or as soon thereafter as may be, and on the
first Tuesday in August of each and every second year thereafter, or as
soon thereafter as may be, and elect a person, not a member of the board,
who shall serve as county school secretary, treasurer and examiner, and
notice of such election, signed by the president of the board, shall be
transmitted to the Comptroller. The duties of the county school secre-
tary, treasurer and examiner for Anne Arundel County shall be per-
formed by one person, and he shall not be allowed any extra compensa-
tion for an assistant, nor shall the County Commissioners of said county
appoint any such assistant, nor fix or allow any compensation to any one
acting as such. The compensation of said county school secretary, treas-
urer and examiner shall not exceed twelve hundred dollars per annum,
and he shall be allowed a sum not exceeding three hundred dollars in any
