sary bridges on the said road, and any new public road which the County
Commissioners may hereafter decide to open, shall be built under the con-
trol and direction of the County Road Engineer and shall not be accepted
and paid for by the County Commissioners until the County Road Engi-
neer has certified to them that said road has been built according to the
contract and specifications signed by the contractor, if such road is built
by contract.

417. It shall be unlawful for any person having in his care or custody
any team on the public roads of Anne Arundel County to allow said team
to go unattended; any person offending against any provision of this sec-
tion upon conviction thereof, before any justice of the peace of Anne
Arundel County, shall be fined not less than two dollars and not more than
eight dollars, or shall be imprisoned for not more than thirty days.

418. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County are hereby
authorized and empowered to make such proper provision as they may
deem expedient or necessary to construct sidewalks of concrete or other
material adjacent to the proposed State highway extending from the city
limits of Annapolis in a westerly direction toward Camp Parole, and
adjacent to the streets, roads and highways in the villages of Eastport,
Glen Burnie, Curtis Bay and the other towns and villages of Anne Arun-
del County, with the further power and authority to the said County Com-
missioners to make in their corporate name contract or contracts for the
building of said sidewalks and to assess the benefits thereof to the owner
or owners of the ground abutting thereon, and to collect said proportion-
ate costs thereof from said abutting owner or owners by levy upon the
abutting land thus benefited.

419. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County are hereby
authorized and empowered to construct if practicable, and if the necessary
rights of way can be lawfully secured, two public roads in said county
less than thirty feet wide, as follows:
First Road—A road twenty-five feet wide located in the Fifth Election
District of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, as laid down on a plat of
Ferndale Farms, said plat being filed in Liber G. W. No. 1, Section No. 1,
folio 63, of the Land Records of Anne Arundel County, Maryland; said
road being named Ferndale Road on said plat, and being about 2,930
feet in length.
Second Road—A road, which shall be not less than twenty-five feet
wide, is located in the Fifth Election District of Anne Arundel County,
Maryland, and has been staked out on the ground and platted by the
County Road Engineer. Said road has been graded, and extends from
the intersection of the property of the Washington, Baltimore and .Annap-
