396. The Governor is hereby authorized to appoint and commission,
by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, five female notaries
public for Anne Arundel County, in addition to the number now author-
ized by law, and three female notaries public for Allegany County in
addition to the number now authorized by law.

397. The Orphans' Court for Anne Arundel County shall be held on
Tuesday of each week in the year and on no other days; provided, that
when it shall appear necessary to said court they may adjourn from
day to day, or to some certain day, to hear arguments, or for the exam-
ination of witnesses in causes coming under the jurisdiction of said
court in which such examination of witnesses or arguments may be de-
sired or may be necessary, or to examine and pass accounts of execu-
tors and administrators.

398. The said Court shall sit for the transaction of business from ten
o'clock A. M. to three o'clock P. M., and each of the judges of said court
shall receive the sum of six ($6.00) dollars for each day's attendance upon
the session of said court, and five cents per mile each way they may be
compelled to travel to and from their place of meeting.*

399. The judges of the Orphans' Court of Anne Arundel County shall
be exempt from serving as jurors in the Circuit Court for said county.

400. It shall be unlawful for any person to use or employ any boat or
canoe licensed to take oysters with rakes and tongs, in the waters of
Talbot, Queen Anne's, Anne Arundel and Dorchester Counties, in taking
or catching oysters with any implements or device other than ordinary
rakes or tongs with wooden shafts, to be used entirely by hand, and with-
out any ropes or hoisting gear whatever. Any person violating the provi-
