4710 ARTICLE 22.

or by-laws of Boonsboro relative to the holding of elections in the town
of Boonsboro shall, after indictment in the Circuit Court of Washington
County, suffer a penalty by fine and imprisonment in the discretion of
the court.

86. It shall be the duty of the County Commissioners of Washington
county to pay over annually to the board of trustees of the Free Library
and Reading Room of Boonsboro, in Washington county, Maryland, one-
half (1/2) of the franchise tax the said County Commissioners shall re-
ceive under the provisions of Section 90 of Article 81 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland (1929 supplement), from every savings
bank, institution or corporation organized for receiving deposits of money
and paying interest thereon, located within the limits of Boonsboro, in
Washington county, Maryland, and having its principal office therein.

86A. The burgess and commissioners of Boonsboro in Washington
County, are hereby authorized and empowered to contract for, and pur-
chase from the Boonsboro Water Company, a supply of water for the use
of said corporation of Boonsboro.

86B. The annual sum of money to be paid by said corporation of
Boonsboro for said supply of water, shall not exceed the sum of seven
hundred dollars, and the period for said contract shall not exceed ten years.

authorized and empowered to levy an annual tax, in addition to the cor-
poration's ordinary taxes, for the sum of money that shall be named in said

contract, during the continuance of said contract, and to pay the same
annually to said Boonsboro Water Company.*

87. The County Commissioners of Washington County are hereby

authorized and empowered to build, construct and repair bridges in said

county without the necessity of advertising for bids therefor, when the
amount involved does not exceed the sum of five hundred dollars.
