register, or forward or purport, or pretend to forward, any money bet,
wager, thing or consideration of value to be bet, gambled or wagered, in
any manner or by any means or devices whatsoever, upon the result of
any such race or contest aforesaid; or to aid, assist, or abet, in any man-
ner or by any means whatsoever, within the limits of Anne Arundel
County, in any of the acts forbidden by any of the provisions of this sec-
tion; any and every person or corporation violating any of the provisions
of this section shall be deemed gnilty of a misdemeanor, and upon con-
viction thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not less than two hundred
dollars and not more than five hundred dollars for each and every such
offense, one-half thereof to go to the informer and the other half thereof
to go to the Board of County School Commissioners of Anne Arundel, for
the use of the public schools thereof, or shall be subject to imprisonment in
the county jail for a period of not less than six months nor more than
one year, or to both fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court;
provided, however, that nothing in this Act shall render it unlawful, dur-
ing the month of October of each year, for any person to make a pool or
book, or to bet within the grounds of any agricultural association upon
any horse race, which shall be actually held or run within the said grounds,
race course or driving park, upon which said person shall so make a pool
or a book, or shall so bet, upon the same day on which said race shall be
held.

293. It shall be unlawful for any person within the limits of Anne
Arundel County to bet or wager money or anything of value at the game
commonly called "Crap," or at any other game of any character whatso-
ever that is or can be played with dice. Any person offending against
any provisions of this section shall upon conviction thereof be fined not
more than twenty-five dollars, or shall be imprisoned in jail for a period
of not more than six months or shall be both so fined and imprisoned in
the discretion of the court.

294. No person, firm or company or corporation shall be permitted
to erect, construct or establish a garbage reduction plant at or on any
place within nine miles of the Lazaretto Light House, on the Patapsco
River, and all persons, firms, companies or corporations are hereby pro-
hibited from erecting, constructing or establishing such plant or plants
for the reduction of garbage, offal or similar refuse at or on any place
within the said limits.
