culverts shall be done upon the best terms the County Commissioners
can intake and shall be paid for out of the fund provided for in Section
893 of this Article.*

897. It shall be unlawful for any person to throw, dump or deposit
any trash, junk or other refuse upon the land or property of another with-
out the written consent first had and obtained of the owner thereof, or
under the personal direction of such owner; or to throw, dump or deposit
any trash, junk or other refuse upon any public highway of Prince
George's County or Montgomery County, and any violation of this Act
shall constitute a misdemeanor and any person convicted thereof before a
Justice of the Peace or Court of proper jurisdiction shall be punishable
by a fine of not less than $5.00 or more than $50.00, or by imprisonment
of not less than thirty (30) or more than (90) days, or both.

898. No person whatsoever shall profane the "Lord's Day," commonly
called Sunday, by shooting or exploding any gun, pistol or firearm of any
kind, or by any other unlawful recreation or pastime, and any person viola-
ting the provisions of this section, shall for every such offense, upon con-
viction before any justice of the peace for the county, forfeit the gun,
pistol or firearm used in such violation and be fined not less than five
dollars, nor more than thirty dollars, one-half of such fine to go to the
person causing the prosecution to be instituted, the other half to the school
fund of the county, and upon failure or refusal to pay such fine and
the costs of prosecution, shall be committed to the jail of said county,
and confined therein until such fine and costs are paid, not exceeding in
any case a period of twenty days; provided that any person so convicted
shall have the right of appeal to the Circuit Court of said county, as in
other cases wherein said justices of the peace have criminal jurisdiction.

899. The Board of Education of Prince George's County shall have
authority to appoint in each and every year before the first day of
August and upon nomination of the County Superintendent of Schools
of Prince George's County, a supervisor of school property, to hold office
for a term of one year from the first day of August next succeeding his
appointment. The County Board of Education may remove such Super-
