money received from the road levy of that year as the same shall become
available.

1922, ch. 200, sec. 285.

893. For new bridge and culvert construction, and for emergency road
and bridge repair, there shall first be drawn by the said Board of County
Commissioners out of the sum annually levied for road and bridge pur-
poses a sum not to exceed $15,000.00, the same to be apportioned and ex-
pended by the County Commissioners among the road districts created by
this Act in an equitable manner as shall be determined by said Board of
County Commissioners.

That on and after the first Monday in December in each year, if there
is remaining any part of the emergency fund of $15,000.00 herein pro-
vided and unexpended and unpledged, the said sum so remaining shall be
used for graveling and cindering the roads, and said funds shall be equally
distributed among the several road districts according to road mileage.

1922, ch. 200, sec. 286.

894. And in case it shall be found impossible or impracticable in any
road district to hire teams, said road supervisors, with the consent of the
district road committees, are authorized to purchase a team or teams and
harness for his road district, chargeable to the road fund of his road dis-
trict, and with the consent of said district road committee may sell such
team or teams and harness and the proceeds thereof shall be turned over
to the Board of County Commissioners for the benefit of said road dis-
trict fund exclusively. Said district supervisor, with the consent of his
district road committee, and with the approval of the County Commis-
sioner, may purchase from time to time such machinery and equipment as
may be needed for the actual working of roads in said road district in
order that each road district may eventually have its own machinery and
equipment; the right to dispose of the same because of impairment and
use at any time being subject to the approval of the County Commission-
ers, upon the written recommendation of the district road committee or a
majority thereof, the proceeds thereof to be turned over to the Board of
County Commissioners for the said district road fund exclusively, or util-
ized by the said district supervisor, under the sanction of the district road
committee, with the approval of the County Commissioners, for the pur-
chase of new machinery and equipment:

895. Upon the petition of one hundred or more voters within any road
district, excluding incorporated towns, addressed to the Board of Super-
visors of Elections setting forth that they desire the voters of said district,
excluding incorporated towns, to vote upon the question as to whether
or not there shall be a special district levy for road and bridge purposes,
and shall further set forth in said petition the annual tax levy to be made,
which shall not exceed five cents on the $100.00, and the number of
years the same is to be levied, which shall not exceed two years, and
