sive weeks, and give notice in said advertisement that on a day to be named
therein, not later than one month from the date of the first insertion there-
in, he will sell the properties therein named to the highest bidder for cash.
All properties so sold may be redeemed by the owner thereof or his assigns
within two years of said date of sale, and in the event of the non-redemp-
tion of the same as herein provided, the Mayor and Council shall deliver to
the purchaser thereof a deed for said property so sold and the said deed so
given shall be presumptive evidence that all the requirements of the law
have been complied with in making such sale. All taxes duly levied, after
the transmittal of the list to the treasurer as in this section hereinbefore
provided, shall be a first lien upon the property against which they are
assessed.
In the event that in the election hereinafter provided for to determine
whether the citizens of Riverdale desire to be incorporated, shall be favor-
able to incorporation the taxes for the calendar year 1920 shall be at one-
half the rate prescribed in the first assessment made by the Board of
Assessors herein provided for and the same shall be due and payable on or
before July first, 1920, and that the penalty for nonpayment at the rate of
one per centum per month shall not he exacted unless said taxes be not
paid before August 1, 1920.
Said assessors and the Mayor and Comm on Council shall have the right
at any time to place on the assessment real estate, not included therein or
on improvements made or erected after the making of said assessments.
REBATE OF ROAD TAX.

874. The County Commissioners of Prince George's County and the
Board of Road Commissioners or Directors of said county shall pay to
the Mayor and Common Council of Riverdale, or the treasurer thereof,
three-fourths of all taxes collected for roads and bridges levied on the prop-
erty within the limits of said town, and said sum so paid shall be expended
by the Mayor and Common Council in the repairs and improvements of
the streets and roadways of said town, said payment to include three-
fourths of said taxes so paid on the levy of 1920, in the event of a vote
adopting this charter as hereinafter provided.

875. The Mayor and Common Council of Riverdale, in Prince George's
County, Maryland, are hereby directed to construct a roadway, not less
than twenty-four feet in width, on Washington Avenue, in the town of
Riverdale from its intersection with the Washington-Baltimore Boulevard
to the curb line of Maryland Avenue in said town, together with curbing
and sidewalks; said roadway, curbing and sidewalks to be laid and con-
structed of such material as shall be desired by the holders of more than
fifty per cent, of the property abutting on said street between said points.
