404 ARTICLE 2.

bridge, when built, shall be maintained and kept in proper repair by said
County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County and the County Commis-
sioners of Prince George's County, as a free bridge; provided that the
entire cost to said two counties, of said bridge, shall not exceed the sum
named in this Act.

The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County and the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County are hereby authorized and
directed to levy on the assesable property of Anne Arundel and Prince
George's County, the former on the assessable property of Anne Arundel
and the latter on the assessable property of Prince George's County at
their regular annual levy for the year eighteen hundred and ninety-two
such a sum of money as may be necessary to carry out and secure the
provision of this Act, the expense thereof to be paid and borne one-third by
Prince George's County, and two-thirds by Anne Arundel County.

The cost of maintaining said bridge so purchased or built, and keeping
it in safe repair and condition for public travel, shall be paid in equal
proportions by the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County and
the County Commissioners of Prince George's County; and they are
hereby authorized to levy upon the assessable property of the two said
counties such sums of money as may be necessary from time to time to
defray said costs in the proportions aforesaid.

163. It shall not be lawful for any person to run, gallop or drive in
an immoderate speed or gait any horses, mare, gelding or beast, on or
over any of the public bridges in Anne Arundel County, and such person
or persons shall put such horse, mare, gelding or beast, in a walk when
passing over the draws in said bridges; and any person so offending shall
be fined not less than five dollars, nor more than ten dollars, one-half
thereof to be paid to the informer, and the other half to the County Com-
missioners of said county for the use of the county.

The County Commissioners for said county shall cause the provisions
of this Act to be posted on each of the public bridges of said county, and
any person defacing or destroying such posters, or notices, shall be subject
to the punishment now imposed by law on persons destroying or defacing
property.

164. The said Commissioners of Anne Arundel County are hereby
authorized and directed to levy annually on the taxable property of said
county a sum of money sufficient to pay the interest on the bonds to be
issued as aforesaid, to pay the principal of said bonds to be issued as
aforesaid as they mature, and to maintain said bridge and to keep the
same in good and safe repair.

On the completion of said bridge and annually thereafter in the month
of May the said County Commissioners are hereby authorized and di-
rected to appoint some suitable and competent person to act as keeper of
