3600 ARTICLE 16.

during the month of May a supervisor of school property for a term of
four years from the first day of August next succeeding his appointment,
and he shall hold office until his successor qualifies. The County Board
of Education, with the concurrence of the Board of County Commission-
ers, or the Board of County Commissioners with the concurrence of the
County Board of Education, may remove such supervisor for immorality,
misconduct in office, insubordination, incompetency, or willful neglect of
duty, upon making known to him, in writing, the charges against him and
upon giving to him an opportunity of being heard in person or by counsel
in his own defense, upon not less than ten days' notice. In case of vacancy
due to any cause, the County Board of Education, with the concurrence of
the Board of County Commissioners, shall fill the vacancy and the ap-
pointment shall be for a full term of four years, and until a successor
shall qualify, provided that George E. Lewis is hereby appointed super-
visor of school property for a term of four years from the first day of
August, 1922, in accordance with the provisions of this section.

1922, ch. 637, sec. 2.

871. The supervisor of school property shall have supervision of the
construction, maintenance, and operation of all school buildings, and of
the transportation of pupils at public expense, in accordance with the
provisions of Article YY of the Annotated Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, title "Public Education," as enacted by Chapter 506 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1916, and subsequent re-
enactments theerof, to and including the re-enactment of 1922.

872. The supervisor of school property shall have jurisdiction of the
sanitary conditions of all the buildings and grounds and shall frequently
make inspection of all school property, and shall take such necessary action
to maintain and keep the most sanitary and efficient condition possible
about any and all of said school property. That it shall be the duty of
said supervisor to frequently inspect and cause to be made in the school
rooms and other buildings proper heating, ventilating, and lighting con-
ditions, to require in all things better accommodations for the comfort,
convenience, and health of the teachers and children.

873. The supervisor of school property shall frequently inspect the
privies, cesspools, sinks, and plumbing on the school properties and cause
same to be operated and maintained in a sanitary manner. That said
supervisor shall from time to time cause an inspection of the water supply
of each and every school and have the same analyzed to insure clean,
healthy drinking water at said schools.

874. The supervisor of school property shall immediately cause to be
