1927, ch. 230.

119. The Clerk to the Board of Election Supervisors of Howard Coun-
ty shall be paid by the County Commissioners of Howard County an
annual salary of Three Hundred Dollars ($300), the same to be paid the
said Clerk only in those years in which county or general elections are
held.

ELK RIDGE.*

1914, ch. 11, sec. 1.

120. The County Commissioners of Howard County, at the time of
the annual tax levy for the year nineteen hundred and fourteen, and each
succeeding year, are hereby authorized, directed and required to make a
special annual levy of such amount as may be mentioned in the petition
hereinafter referred to, on each one hundred dollars of the whole assess-
able property, situated in the village of Elk Ridge, Howard County, to be
collected as other County taxes in said County are collected, and the rev-
enue derived from said special annual levy to be used by the said County
Commissioners of Howard County for the sole purpose of the betterment
of the roads, sidewalks, sanitary measures, drainage and other improve-
ments in said village of Elk Ridge; provided, twenty-five or more per-
sons residing in said village and owning such taxable real or personal
property in said village, shall, prior to each annual levy, petition the said
County Commissioners, thereby asking that such special levy be made, and
in said petition mentioning the amount desired to be specially levied, pro-
vided, that the same shall not exceed the sum of twenty cents on each one
hundred dollars of assessable property as aforesaid; provided, however,
that all taxes collected under the provisions of this Act shall be used ex-
clusively by the County Commissioners of Howard County for the better-
ment of the roads, sidewalks, drainage, sanitary measures and other im-
provements within the area as provided for in Section 121 of this sub-
title.

121. For the purposes of this Act the metes and bounds of the Village
of Elkridge shall be deemed and taken as follows: Beginning at the point
where the Mill Race of the Old Hockley Mill passes under the Viaduct
Bridge of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, and thence following the
course of said Mill Race down to the Patapsco River; thence following
the Patapsco River down-stream to Deep Run Stream; thence going up
Deep Run Stream to the place where the fourth or last course of the land
known as the Nadden property crosses Deep Run Stream; thence leav-
ing Deep Run Stream and following the fourth and thii'd lines of the
Nadden property reversely to the western side of the right of way of
the Washington Branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad; thence along
