10. They shall meet together at the almshouse in said county, on the
first Monday of May, yearly, and at such other times as they shall judge
necessary, and appoint a fit person to be overseer of the almshouse, and
such other proper officers and servants as to them may seem necessary.

11. They shall pay said overseer a salary not exceeding the sum of
two hundred and twenty-five dollars per annum, and so pro rata during
his continuance in office.

12. They may remove, at their pleasure, said overseer, and all other
officers and servants appointed by them, and appoint others in their places.

13. They shall require the said overseer to enter into bond, with suffi-
cient sureties, payable to the said-trustees, in the penalty of five hundred
dollars, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of his office,

14. The trustees shall meet at the almshouse four times in each year,
to wit: in the first week in February, May, August and November, or
oftener if by them deemed necessary, to make by a majority of votes of
such as may be present, all such rules and by-laws as they shall think
convenient and necessary for the direction, government and support of the
almshouse, and the employment of all poor persons, vagrants, beggars, vaga-
bonds and offenders, that shall be committed thereto.

15. The overseer shall keep a regular list of all persons committed to
said almshouse.

16. He shall keep and return to the said trustees, upon oath, to be
administered by one of them, at the meeting of the trustees next preced-
ing the month of March, annually, a regular account, in writing, of all
the stock, farming utensils and other things remaining in his hands, to
gether with a statement of the crop and other articles made on the estate;
of said almshouse, and of the expenses and charges attending the main-
tenance and support of the inmates thereof, and of all money received
by him from the sales of the produce of their labor; which statements and
accounts, with the vouchers that support them, the trustees shall lay before
the county commissioners at their annual meeting in March.

17. All meetings of the said trustees shall be held at the almshouse,
except such as may be necessary for the settlement of their accounts with
the county commissioners.
