HARFORD COUNTY. 2937

satisfatcory system of general Land and Judgment indexes for the offices
of the Clerk of the said Court, to purchase all books needed therefor, to
contract for the making of said indexes, to verify, in conjunction with
the Clerk of said Court, the accuracy of said indexes, when made; and to
do all things that may be necessary and proper to do in the premises.

Said Court shall have full power to fill vacancies on said committee,
whenever and however they may occur.*

1927, ch. 55.

210. It shall be lawful to close the Clerk's office of said Court at the
hour of one P. M. on Saturday of each week; provided either judge of the
Circuit Court of said County may order and direct at any time the said
office to be kept open, and the said Clerk or such deputies to remain for
such a time as said Judge may deem necessary to the convenience of the
Court.

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

1916, ch. 680, sec. 189.

211. From and after the general election to be held on the Tuesday
next after the first Monday in November, 1907, the Board of County
Commissioners of Harford County shall consist of five members.

1918, ch. 91. 1920, ch. 42. 1922, ch. 25.

212. The Board of County Commissioners of Harford County shall
each receive five dollars ($5.00) per day for each day they shall be en-
gaged in the discharge of their duties from the first day of January, 1922;
in addition to the mileage now allowed by law.

1916, ch. 680, sec. 190.

213. There shall be elected at the general election of 1907 three
County Commissioners, who shall hold office for two years and until their
successors are elected and have qualified, and there shall be elected at the
general election of 1909 four County Commissioners, who shall hold
office for two years and until their successors are elected and have quali-
fied, and at the general election of 1911 there shall be elected five County
Commissioners, who shall hold office for two years and until their suc-
cessors are elected and qualified, and thereafter five County Commission-
ers shall be elected at each general election, and the County Commis-
sioners elected under the provisions of this Act shall be eligible for re-
election, but those holding over under the Act of 1892, Chapter 157, shall
be ineligible to succeed themselves.

All county elective officers are now elected for four year terms, under Art. 17
of Md. Constitution.

*Ch. 99, 1927, and ch. 488, 1929, authorized the committee to contract for com-
pleting the indexes and for the payment of same out of excess fees of the office of
the clerk of court.
