18 ARTICLE 1.

agreement essential in carrying out the purpose of this Act, and when said
bridge is so built, the said Road Directors, together with the authorities of
Hampshire County, West Virginia, shall maintain and keep the same in
repair, paying for said maintenance out of the general road fund for
Allegany County.

BRIDGE AT WILEY FORD.

43. The County Commissioners of Allegany County are hereby au-
thorized and directed to levy the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) at
the annual levy for 1908 of Allegany County for the purpose of joining
Mineral County, West Virginia, in building a bridge across the Potomac
River at some point which may be determined upon as most convenient, at
or near Wiley Ford, South Cumberland, on the road leading from Cumber-
land to Winchester, Virginia.

Said sum so levied shall be entered to the use of the Road Directors of
Allegany County, for the purpose aforesaid, which Road Directors are
hereby empowered to supervise the expenditure of the same, and make any
agreement essential to carrying out the purposes of this Act.

BRIDGE AT LUKE.

1910, ch. 751, sec. 1 (p. 514).

44. The County Commissioners of Allegany County are hereby em-
powered to levy on the assessable property of Allegany County at their
regular annual levy for 1911, or at any subsequent annual levy, such a
sum as may be found to be necessary for the purpose of joining Mineral
County, West Virginia, in building a bridge across the Potomac River at
some point which may be determined upon as most convenient, connecting
the village of Luke, in Allegany County, Maryland, with the village of
Beryl, in Mineral County, West Virginia.

45. Said sum so levied shall be entered to the use of the Road Directors
for Allegany County, for the purpose aforesaid, which Road Directors are
hereby empowered to supervise the expenditure of the same and make any
agreement essential to carrying out the purpose of this Act.

46. Said bridge shall be constructed and said sum assessed and appro-
priated to the use of the Road Directors for Allegany County only upon
the condition that the proper authorities of Mineral County, West Vir-
ginia, enter into an agreement with said Road Directors that they will pay
one-half of the costs of construction of said bridge, and that they will fur-
ther pay one-half of the costs of repairing and maintaining said bridge.
