1598 ARTICLE 6.

with this Act, and all ordinances of the Commissioners of Federalsburg
now in force and not inconsistent with this Act, are hereby continued in
as full force and virtue as if the Mayor and Council of Federalsburg were
named therein until changed or repealed, respectively, by the General
Assembly of Maryland or by the Mayor and. Council of Federalsburg.

1929, ch. 21, sec. 48.

225. All officers provided for or named in the Chartei of Federals-
burg or any amendments thereto, as it now stands before the passage of
this Act, whether by election or appointment, shall continue to hold, exer-
cise and discharge the duties of their respective offices until their suc-
cessors shall be duly qualified, and nothing contained in this Act shall be
construed to interfere with the continuity of the terms of tenure of said
officers; nor shall a reappointment or re-election of any of said officers
be necessary in order to secure the said continuity of their said terms and
tenures of office, unless otherwise provided in this Act.

226. Each section of this Act and every part of said section are hereby-
declared to be individual sections, and the holding of any section or sec-
tions or part or parts thereof to be void, ineffective or unconsitutional for
any cause shall not be deemed to affect any other section or part thereof.

1927, ch. 603, sec. 1,

227. "The Commissioners of Federalsburg" are hereby authorized and
empowered to construct, establish and maintain a water supply system
in and for the Town of Federalsburg, in Caroline County, State of Mary-
land, or in their discretion to acquire by purchase or condemnation, the
property, real and personal, rights and franchises, of any person or per-
sons, partnership or corporation now furnishing water to the citizens of
Federalsburg, for the purpose of furnishing an adequate and proper supply
of water in said town for all private and municipal purposes.

1927, ch. 603, sec. 2.

228. "The Commissioners of Federalsburg" are hereby authorized and
empowered to acquire by purchase, leasie, gift or by condemnation, in the
manner now prescribed by law for the acquisition of private property for
public use, any and all property, both real and personal, or any interest
therein, within or without the corporate: limits of the said Town of Feder-
alsburg which the said "The Commissioners of Federalsburg" may deem
necessary for the proper construction of said improvements; and the said
"The Commissioners of Federalsburg" may in their discretion also ac-
