We, the undersigned, citizens of the town of Federalsburg, Caroline
County, Maryland, and being duly qualified voters of said town, do here-
by certify, that we do nominate........................... who has
been a resident of the town of Federalsburg, Caroline County, for more
than one year, for the office of ....................
We do further certify that we and each of us shall vote for the said
person nominated hereby.

And each candidate shall at the same time deposit with the Clerk of
Federalsburg the sum of Five Dollars ($5.00), which sum shall be paid
to the Mayor and Council for the purpose of defraying in whole or in
part the expenses of said election. And immediately upon the expiration
of the time of filing of petitions by the respective candidates the Clerk of
Federalsburg shall cause to be published in one or more newspapers pub-
lished in Caroline County or posted in three conspicuous places in the
town of Federalsburg, the names of all the candidates as they are to appear
upon the official ballot, and the said Clerk shall thereupon cause the official
ballots to be printed on plain white paper of uniform size to be delivered
to the Judges of Election and to no other person, and on such ballots shall
appear the name or names of all the candidates for Mayor arranged alpha-
betically and immediately following the words "For Mayor," which shall
be printed on said ballot, and preceding the names of the candidates shall
be plainly printed in black ink a direction to the voters: "Vote for one
by making a cross (X) mark in that square which is opposite the name of
the candidate to be voted for," and a black line shall be printed imme-
diately under the name of each candidate extending to a square opposite
the name of the candidate and immediately following the name of the
candidate or candidates for Mayor shall be printed a black line extend-
ing to a square on which the voter may insert in writing the name of a
candidate for Mayor, if he so desires, which name may not already be
printed on the ballot, and also on such ballots shall appear the name or
names of all the candidates for councilmen arranged alphabetically, and
immediately following the words "For Councilman," which shall bo
printed on said ballot, and preceding the name or names of the candidate
or candidates shall be plainly printed in black ink a direction to the
voters: "Vote for four (as the case may be) by making a cross (X) mark
in that square which is opposite the name or names of the candidate or
candidates to be voted for," and a black line shall be printed immediately
under the name of each candidate extending to a square opposite the name
of the candidate, and immediately following the names of the candidates
