except dogs three months old and under, and to appropriate a certain por-
tion of said tax as a compensation to any person who may in any manner
kill or destroy any fox in the county.

110. They shall require an accurate return to be made annually, in
the months of July and August by the collectors of taxes of the several
election districts in said county, of all dogs owned or kept by any person
within their respective districts, particularly noting the number owned
or kept by each person, and the names of each owner or keeper thereof.

111. The said collectors, in their respective districts of the county shall
proceed to collect the sum so levied and apportioned by the County Com-
missioners as soon as the levy list is placed in their hands, in the same
manner as is now provided by law for the collection of State and county
taxes in said county, and shall keep and return an accurate account, under

oath, of the money arising therefrom, together with the money collected
by them, and shall be entitled to receive out of the fund provided by sec-
tion 113, ten per centum on the amount collected by them, respectively.

112. If any person shall refuse or neglect to pay the tax levied as
aforesaid, the collectors of said tax shall kill any dog of such delinquent
person, except dogs three months old and under.

113. Out of the tax directed by Section 109 to be levied upon the

owners of dogs in said county the sum of two dollars shall be paid by the
County Commissioners as a compensation to any person who may kill
or destroy any fox in said county, and the surplus or residue of said tax,
if any, shall constitute a general county fund in the hands of the County

Commissioners for said county, for the repair of the public roads thereof.

114. Before the killer or destroyer of any fox in said county shall be
entitled to the compensation of two dollars as aforesaid, he shall present
both the brush and scalp of the fox so killed or destroyed, to the County
Commissioners, and make oath in their presence that the same was killed

or destroyed by him in said county.

115. It shall be unlawful in Calvert County for any person to shoot
any fox while it is being pursued by hounds.

Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined not less than five dollars
nor more than twenty dollars for each and ever offense.
