by steam or compressed air or by any other motive power what-
soever, and either separately or in trains, and shall have full
power and right to construct, erect, operate and maintain all
motors, wires, cables, poles, conduits, trenches, both above and
under ground, and all other connections, structures, appurten-
ances and things proper or necessary for said purposes, and
shall have further power to build bridges over all streams
which its route may cross, depots, stations, machinery, power
houses, car barns and all appurtenances to said railway and
all switches leading to and from the same, and all appropriate
turnouts and connections, and to charge a reasonable rate for
the transportation and conveyance of persons and property upon
and over said railways or any part or parts thereof; the route
of said railway to begin at some suitable point in Baltimore
City, and thence running over, through and along such streets
and highways of said city and over and upon such railway
tracks as may be authorized, as hereinafter stated, to be laid
by said company hereby incorporated, or over and upon such
railway tracks of any other railway company as may be upon
such streets and highways and upon such terms and conditions
as may be authorized, designated and specified by ordinance,
of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore; provided, that
nothing herein contained shall be construed to authorize the-
company hereby incorporated to use for any purpose or pur-
poses whatever the railway track or tracks of the United Rail-
ways and Electric Company of Baltimore City, without first
obtaining the consent of said company; and running thence
over such public streets and highways in Baltimore county,
Harford county and Anne Arundel county, or any or either
of said counties, and upon such terms and conditions as to
such streets, roads and highways as may be prescribed by the
Board of County Commissioners of said counties, respectively,
or any or either of said boards, to such point or points in
said county or any or either of them upon the Chesapeake Bay
or upon any tributary thereof as the company hereby incor-
porated shall, through its directors, select and determine, and
from such point or points upon the Chesapeake Bay, as afore-
said, by means of appropriate ferry boats or steamers of suffi-
dent size and capacity for the carriage and transportation of
passengers and freight or for the carriage and transportation of
the cars of said company containing passengers and freight to
such point or points upon the Chesapeake Bay or any tribu-
tary thereof in Kent county upon the Eastern Shore of Mary-
land as the said company, through its directors, may select
and determine upon as proper or desirable; and from said last-
