Maryland, and shall be heard and determined in preference to
all other civil business pending therein, excepting election
causes, irrespective of position on the dockets of said Courts.
The same preference shall be granted upon application of the
General Counsel to the Commission, or his assistant, in any
action or proceedings in which the General Counsel or his
assistant may be allowed to intervene.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 564.
AN ACT to incorporate the Baltimore and Eastern Shore Rail-
way and Ferry Company.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That James H. Preston, Joseph F. Nossel and John R.
Bland, of Baltimore City; Curtis E. Crane, of Kent county;
Harvey B. Cooper, of Caroline county; Charles E. Harper, of
Wicomico county, and Edgar W. McMaster, of Worcester
county, and such other persons as may thereafter become stock-
holders in the corporation hereby incorporated, shall be and
they are hereby constituted a body corporate by the name and
style of the Baltimore and Eastern Shore Railway and Ferry
Company, and by that name shall have succession, and shall
be able to sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, and to
make and use a common seal, and the same to alter and renew
at pleasure, and by the above shall be capable in law of pur-
chasing, holding, possessing, transferring and selling and con-
veying property, real, personal and mixed, and for the object
and purpose of said corporation, and may exercise all the
powers, rights and privileges, and do and execute all acts, mat-
ters and things incident to the objects and purposes of said
corporation as created by this act.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the company hereby
incorporated shall have the power to survey, locate, establish,
make, construct, equip, operate and maintain a single track or
double track railway, with as many sets of tracks, switches,
turnouts and sidings, and with all and complete overhead and
underground construction and equipment as said company may
deem expedient or proper for the transportation and carriage of
passengers, freight, produce, stock, merchandise, parcels and
packages in cars drawn or propelled by electricity in any form or
