740 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [Ch. 527]

WHEREAS, The said association has purchased a parcel of land
at Claiborne, Talbot county, and proposes to erect thereon a
suitable building for the housing and care of invalid children
and mothers; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of five hundred ($500) dollars be and the
same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the Treasury
of the State of Maryland not otherwise appropriated, to be paid
in the year 1913 to The Claiborne Fresh Air Association,
Incorporated, of Talbot county, State of Maryland, provided
such a building has then been actually erected and in use by
said association, and that the Comptroller of the Treasury be
and he is hereby authorized and directed in such event to issue
his warrant upon the Treasurer of the State of Maryland for
the sum of five hundred ($500) dollars, the same to be paid in
the year 1913 to the said The Claiborne Fresh Air Association,
Incorporated.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 527.

AN ACT to provide for cleaning out certain parts of the Poco-
moke River in Worcester county.

WHEREAS, By virtue of Chapter 215 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, passed at the December Session,
1840, amended by subsequent acts of the said General Assem-
bly, a certain fund was created for the purpose of cleaning
out the Pocomoke River in Worcester county, and was paid
into the hands of certain commissioners, all of whom have
since died, but whose places have from time to time been
duly filled, and there still remains in the hands of the present
commissioners an unexpended balance of said fund;

WHEREAS, Many persons owning property rights adjacent to
and bordering on said river are willing to augment said fund
by private subscription.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Thomas M. Purnell, E. Horace Fooks and Clarence
L. Vincent, J. Edward White, William M. Burbage, William
