CHAPTER 417.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money for the use of Spring-
field State Hospital to pay for certain real estate purchased
by the board of directors.

WHEREAS, On February 17th, 1911, at a meeting of the board
of managers of the Springfield State Hospital it was deter-
mined that for the purpose of the hospital it was necessary
to acquire more land; and,

WHEREAS, Pursuant to this determination by resolution duly
passed on that date the board was authorized 'to buy from
William B. Thomas sixty-four acres of land, more or less,
at sixty ($60) dollars per acre, which purchase was duly
made, but the same has not been fully paid for; and,

WHEREAS, In order to vest in the board of directors the fee
simple title to the said property it is necessary that the final
payment to be made and the deed given therefor,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of four thousand ($4,000) dollars be and
the same is hereby appropriated for the purchase of a tract of
land adjoining the lands of Springfield State Hospital for the
uses and purposes of said hospital, and the Treasurer of the
State of Maryland is hereby-directed to draw his warrant on
the Comptroller in favor of the board of managers of Spring-
field State Hospital for the said sum of four thousand dollars,
or as much thereof as may be necessary, and the Comptroller
is directed to pay the same from any moneys in the Treasury,
not otherwise appropriated.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That when the purchase
money for said property is paid and the muniments of title
passed, that the said purchase be and the same is hereby
approved as of the date of the final payment of the purchase
money and the acceptance of a deed to be held by said Spring-
field State Hospital, for the use of the State, in conformity
to its act of incorporation by Chapter 231 of the Acts of 1894.

CHAPTER 418.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 87 of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws of Maryland of 1904, said section to apply
only to Baltimore City, to be known as section 39A.
