certain bonds to raise funds to be applied to the costs of
said building and land, and to provide for the payment of
said bonds, and to pass such ordinances as may be necessary
for the purpose of this act and for the management, use and
protection of said public hall or building.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Commissioners of Sudlersville, a municipal
corporation of Queen Anne's county, created by and existing
under the laws of the State of Maryland, be and it is hereby
empowered and authorized to erect, own and maintain within
its corporate limits a public hall or building wherein the officers
of said corporation can hold the municipal elections and meet-
ings, transact the business of said corporation, receive the
municipal taxes, and wherein fire apparatus can be kept, and
to contain, in addition to the rooms required for the above
or other municipal purposes, a large hall or assembly-room,
suitable for the holding of public assemblies, lectures, plays or
other entertainments.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the municipal corporation
aforesaid, the Commissioners of Sudlersville, be and it is hereby
authorized and empowered to acquire by purchase or by con-
demnation in the manner prescribed by Article 23 of the Code
of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Corporations," sub-
title "Condemnation of property by corporations," with amend-
ments thereto, any land within the corporate limits of said
municipal corporation upon which to erect said building.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That for the purpose of cons-
tructing or erecting said public hall and for the purpose of
acquiring the land upon which to erect the same, the Commis-
sioners of Sudlersville be and it is hereby authorized, empow-
ered and directed to borrow money on the faith and credit of
said municipal corporation, to an amount not exceeding seven
thousand dollars and to issue registered coupon bonds of said
municipal corporation in payment of said sum and the interest
thereon to accrue. The Commissioners or municipal officers of
said corporation are hereby authorized and empowered to fix
and determine the length of time any and all said bonds shall run,
their series, and the time at which said any and all said bonds
shall be redeemable, and the rate of interest they shall bear, and
shall have the right to make said bonds redeemable at pleasure
or otherwise, in their discretion. Said bonds shall be issued in
the name of "The Commissioners of Sudlersville," and shall be
signed by the three commissioners or municipal officers of said
corporation who shall also sign the coupons thereof. Said bonds
