owned by him or her, and may vote either in person or by
proxy; such by-laws as may be found necessary may be made
and adopted by the board of directors, provided, however, that
the same are not contrary to law nor to the purpose of this
corporation, including in such by-laws of the corporation for
the affairs of the company appointments, pay and duties of
the president, and the necessary subordinate officers, and the
time, place and notice for the holding of the annual meeting
of stockholders for the election of directors, and also for the
declaring of such dividends out of the profits of the said com-
pany as the board of directors may deem proper.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the said company shall
have the power to acquire, equip and operate a printing house
and to publish a daily, weekly or monthly newspaper or news-
papers, as the said directors shall direct, with full power to
carry on and conduct a printing house or establishment in all its
branches, to sell its newspaper or newspapers, to contract for
advertising and publish advertisements, to do all kinds of job
printing and engage and carry on all such business as is usual
in well regulated newspaper and printing offices, anywhere
within the limits of Cecil county, Maryland.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the said incorporators are
hereby authorized to open books for subscription to the capital
stock of said company at such times and places as they may
deem proper, and when the sum of five thousand dollars
($5,000) has been subscribed to the capital stock, the said
incorporators shall have the power to meet and organize by the
election of directors and officers, as provided in this act, and
to commence the business which it is authorized to do under the
provisions of this act.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 381.

AN ACT to extend and enlarge the powers and privileges of the
Marine Bank of Crisfield, a corporation formed under the
provisions of the Public General Laws of Maryland.
