452 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [Ch. 227]

located on the United States Geological Survey map of nine-
teen hundred and nine (1909), of Garrett county, in the State
of Maryland, and at such points in said districts a& may be
located by actual survey therein, and as may be most suitable
for the location, storage and distribution of water, and water
and electric power; to erect, construct and maintain dams and
storage basins, and to erect, construct and maintain all such
machinery and appliances for the distribution of water, and
water and electric power on said Youghiogheny River and its
tributaries in the aforesaid districts and more particularly at
a point commonly known as "Swallow Falls" at or near the
confluence of Deep Creek, and Muddy Creek, with the afore-
said river, and to locate, acquire, construct, equip, maintain
and operate from such points on the Youghiogheny River, afore-
said, by the most practical route or routes to be determined
by the board of directors of the said company to such point or
points in said county they may select for the transmission and
delivery of power by wire, on poles or underground, and by
cables, pipes, tubes, conduits and all other convenient appli-
ances for power transmission, with such branch lines through
said county and elsewhere, as a majority of the stockholders of
the company may locate or otherwise be located for receiving,
transmitting, distributing and delivering power; and to pur-
chase, acquire, hold, lease, manage, control and operate and to
sell, lease and dispose of to such person or persons, partnerships
and corporations, and for such price or prices and on such
terms and conditions as to this company may seem proper,
water, water rights, power, privileges and appropriations for
mining, milling, transportation, agricultural, domestic and
other uses and purposes, and to develop, control and generally
deal in and dispose of to such person or persons, partnerships,
corporation or corporations and for such price or prices, and
on such terms and conditions as to the corporation may seem
proper, electrical and other power for the generation, storage,
distribution and supply of electricity for light, heat and motive
power, and for any other uses and purposes to which the same
may be adapted, and may locate, acquire, construct, equip,
maintain and operate all necessary plants for generating and
developing, by water, steam or any other means, and for storing,
using, transmitting, distributing, selling and delivering power,
including dams, gates, sluices, tunnels, stations and other build-
ings, boilers, engines, machinery, switches, lamps, motors, dyna-
mos and all other works, structures and appliances in the State
of Maryland and in the State of West Virginia, and may also
acquire, own and hold all lands, mines, mineral rights, mineral
