PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, GOVERNOR. 451

located at Oakland, in Garrett county, Maryland, and its
certificate of incorporation being recorded in the office of the
State Tax Commissioner in Liber B. S. No. 4, folio 720
and 721, one of the charter records of said office, and also
recorded in Liber E. Z. T. No. 2, folio 238, etc., one of the
charter corporation records of Garrett county, Maryland;
and,

WHEREAS, Said corporation is now desirous through its board of
directors to have all the powers, rights and privileges granted
to it under said certificate of incorporation, ratified and con-
firmed by the General Assembly of the State of Maryland,
and in addition thereto to have its said powers, rights and
privileges enlarged and extended; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land. That the powers, rights and privileges granted and con-
ferred upon the Youghiogheny Water and Electric Power Com-
pany by its certificate of incorporation, granted and recorded
as aforesaid, are hereby ratified and confirmed by the General
Assembly of Maryland, and that the said company, in addition
to the powers, rights and privileges therein enumerated is
hereby authorized and empowered to sell, convey and supply
to the public, including both individuals and corporations, with-
in the county of Garrett and elsewhere in the State of Mary-
land, except in Baltimore City, and also, but subject to such
regulations and conditions as they may prescribe, within the
State of West Virginia and the State of Pennsylvania, power
in the form of'electric current and hydraulic, pneumatic and
steam pressure, or any of the said power, and in any or all
other forms, for use in driving machinery and for lights, heat
and all other use to which the power so supplied can be made
applicable; and to fix, charge, collect and receive rates and tolls
therefor; and to erect, maintain and operate, purchase, lease or
otherwise acquire, telephone and telegraph lines within the
county of Garrett, and to make connections with any telephone
or telegraph lines operated in any of the adjoining counties
in the State of Maryland, or in the State of West Virginia
or in the State of Pennsylvania, and for the purpose of enabling
the company to supply power as aforesaid, the company is
authorized and empowered to develop the water power of the
Toughiogheny River and its tributaries in Sang Run, Oakland,
and East Oakland Districts, and being Election Districts Num-
ber Six (6), fourteen (14) and seven (T), respectively, as
