transferred to a new assessment book for said district, and
taxes shall be collected as taxes are collected in other election
districts of Wicomico county.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 542.
AN ACT to repeal section 149 of Chapter 105 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1910, entitled
"An Act to amend section 130, 149 and 158H of Chapter
310 of the Acts of the General Assembly passed at the Ses-
sion of 1908, and add a new section thereto, to be designated
as 1580, providing for the purchase or condemnation of a
city wharf, entitled 'An Act to repeal section 130 to section
158, inclusive, of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title 'Wicomico County/ sub-title, 'Salisbury/ and all
amendments and additions thereto, except such as are herein-
after excepted, etc., and to re-enact the said section with
amendments."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 149 of Chapter 105 of the Acts of 1910,
entitled "An Act to amend section 130, 149 and 158H of Chap-
ter 310 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
passed at the Session of 1908, and add a new section thereto,
to be designated as 158o, providing for purchase or condem-
nation of a city wharf, entitled 'An Act to repeal section 130
to section 1580, inclusive, of Article 23 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title 'Wicomico County,' sub-title 'Salisbury,'
and all amendments and additions (thereto, except such as are
hereinafter excepted, etc," be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as follows:
149. And be it enacted, That at the first regular meeting
in July, 1912, and at the same time every second year there-
after the Mayor shall appoint one person a resident and qual-
ified voter of this city, not a member of the Council, to act as
clerk to the Council, collector of city taxes and treasurer, who
shall be 'the same person, for the term of two years, or until
his successor is duly qualified, subject as other officers
appointed to confirmation by the Council. The said officer to
