porate name may have perpetual succession, sue and be sued,
plead and be impleaded, in any court of law or equity, and
may have and use a common seal.

245. The boundaries of said town shall embrace the several
Garrett Park sub-divisions of the lands of the Metropolitan
Investment and Building Company of Montgomery County,
Maryland, in said county, as the same are described, designated
and laid out in the three plats and certificates thereof, recorded
in Liber J. A. No. 4, folio 121; Liber J. A. No. 5, folio 225r
and Liber J. A. No. 11, folio 107, respectively, of the Land
Record Books of Montgomery County, Maryland.

246. The citizens of the town shall, on the first Monday
in May in the year 1912, and every second year thereafter on
the first Monday in May, at such place or places as shall be
designated by the judges of election, between the hours of 2
o'clock P. M. and Y o'clock P. M. elect by ballot one person
Mayor of said town, who shall serve for a term of two years
or until his successor is elected and qualified. The citizens
aforesaid shall also elect on the first Monday in May, 1912,
two persons to be members of the council of said town, who
shall serve for a term of two years or until their successors
are elected and qualified, and they, together with the two mem-
bers of the council elected at the election held in said town on
the first Monday in May, 1911, to hold office for two years from
said date, and the Mayor, shall constitute the council of said
town. The citizens aforesaid shall elect on the first Monday
in May of each year thereafter two persons to be members of
the Council of said town, who shall serve for two years or
until their successors are elected and qualified. The qualifica-
tions for voters for Mayor and members of the council shall
be the same as prescribed for voters by the laws of this State.
They must have resided within tke corporation limits of said
town for at least six months next preceding their election. The
Mayor and members of the council must continue to reside in
said town during their terms of office, and they shall receive
no fees or compensation1 for their services except that the Mayor
shall receive the fees allowed in sec. 251.

247. The Mayor shall preside at meetings, and shall call
such meetings, from time to time, as he may deem necessary,
but in the event of the absence of the Mayor from any meet-
ing, the members of the council present shall elect one of their
