1254 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [Ch. Y57]

WHEREAS, Chapter 39Y of the Acts of 1904 failed to make any
appropriation covering the contract for supplies, stationery,
blank books and materials to be used by the Court of Appeals,
State Library, Executive Department and the General
Assembly of Maryland for the Session of 1912; and,

WHEREAS, Under the provisions of said Chapter 397 of the
Acts of 1904 the contract for such supplies was awarded by
the Board of Public Works, after due notice, to Lucas
Brothers, they being the lowest bidders therefor; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2,500),
or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated
to pay the claim of Lucas Brothers for supplies, stationery,
blank books and materials used by the Court of Appeals, State
Library, Executive Department and the General Assembly of
Maryland for the Session of 1912, and the Treasurer of the
State is hereby authorized to pay Lucas Brothers upon the
warrant of the Comptroller, the said sum, or so much thereof
as may be necessary, the sum to be paid as prescribed in Chap-
ter 397 of the Acts of 1904.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 756.

AN ACT to repeal sections 1 and 2 of Article 25 of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "County Commissioners," and
all other laws, so far as the same may be inconsistent with
the provisions of this act, and to enact a new road law for
Frederick county.

(Vetoed.)

CHAPTER 757.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of
St. Mary's County to levy a sum of taxes not to exceed
twelve hundred dollars ($1,200), to build two school houses
for white children, one near St. Andrew's Church on the
road leading to Indian Bridge, in the Eighth Election Dis-
