ment granting any release, or the performance of any duty
required by law in criminal cases, or when acting as coroner;
but the said County Commissioners shall in no case pay the
aforesaid salary until the said police justice shall have first
filed his monthly reports as required by section 4 of this act.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That if any police justice
shall be unable by reason of sickness, absence, relationship or
other temporary cause whatever to attend to his duties as such
police justice, it shall be the duty of the State's attorney for
said county to designate and require another justice of the
peace, to perform the duties of said police justice so sick, absent
or otherwise unable to perform the duties of his office, so long
as the same may be necessary, and the State's attorney shall
forthwith certify any selection he may make to the County
Commissioners of Dorchester County. The justice so required
to perform said duties as police justice shall receive the same
compensation prescribed for said police justice, and shall be
paid by the County Commissioners, who shall deduct the same
from tie salary of the police justice for whom he was serving.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That all laws and parts
of laws inconsistent with the provisions of this act be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 699.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact sections 101 and 106 of Article
39 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland of 1904,
title "Fish and Fisheries," sub-title "Chesapeake Bay," and
to add a new section, 103A, and to follow immediately after
section 102 of said article; said new section providing for
further regulation of fishing in the waters of said bay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 101 and 106 of Article 39 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland of 1904, title "Fish and
Fisheries," sub-title "Chesapeake Bay," be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as
follows:

SEC. 101. Any person, firm or corporation desiring to en-
gage in the business of taking or catching of fish for sale, by
the use of pound nets, fykes, haul seines or other contrivances,
