PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, GOVERNOR. 113

WHEREAS, By Chapter 577 of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland of 1910, the Visitors of Anne Arundel
County Free School, a body politic, were authorized and
empowered to sell its land in said county except two acres,
and to apply the proceeds toward building a new school
house on said two acres; and,

WHEREAS, Subsequent to the passage of said act, and in pur-
suance thereof,, the said Visitors sold 148 acres, of said
original tract of 150 acres for $1,700, and reserved from
said sale two acres of said tract for the purpose of building
thereon a new school house; and,

WHEREAS, The said Visitors, after careful consideration, have
decided that the said two acres so reserved are unsuited as
to location, and in other respects, to the purposes of a school
house for said community, but that said school house should
be located nearer Rutland in said county; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That authority be, and the same is, hereby granted
to Benjamin Watkins, Sr., Robert W. Kent, Ephraim Gaither,
D. W. .Townsend and Julian M. B'eard, the board of visitors of
Anne Arundel County Free School, a body politic, and their
successors, to sell at either public or private sale, whichever
they may deem the more advantageous, the remaining two
acres of the farm known as. the Free School Farm, in Anne
Arundel county, lying at the head of South River, and between
Rutland and Chesterfield, in the Second District of said county,
and to add the proceeds of said sale to the fund realized from
the sale of the other 148 acres of said tract sold in pursuance
of the authority conferred by Chapter 577 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1910. And upon payment
of the whole sum of purchase money for said two acres, and

not before, the said visitors or their successors shall by good
and sufficient deed to be executed, acknowledged and recorded
according to law, convey to the purchaser or purchasers a
clear, fee simple title to the property and estate sold as above
directed. And the said visitors or their successors are hereby
also authorized and empowered to purchase two other acres
of land or as much thereof as desirable at or near Rutland, in
said county, for the purpose of building thereon a new school
house, the payment for the said land and the said school house
shall be made from the proceeds of the sale of the said Free

. School Farm, as hereinbefore mentioned.
