suitable for such purpose, which books shall be made of draw-
ing paper of good quality, and shall be substantially bound,
with proper index or indexes; said clerk shall cause all such
plats left with him for record to be actually recorded in said
books by a person skilled in such work and shall preserve the
original of the same among the records of said office.

The erpense of recording such plats shall be taxed by him
at the time the same are left for record, and shall be paid by
the party by whom said plats shall be left for record.

SEC. 60B. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Baltimore
County is hereby authorized and directed to procure suitable
books made of drawing paper of good quality and substantially
bound, not less than 36 inches in length by 24 inches in width,
and said clerk shall employ a skilled surveyor, who shall there-
upon make true and accurate copies of .all plats contained in
Plat Books Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4, and in tubes filed in said office,
in the books so procured, and said clerk shall cause a full and
complete index or indexes to be made thereof, and shall file and
preserve among the records of his office all the original plats
contained in said plat books and tubes and said plat record
books. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County
shall pay the expense incurred for the transcribing of said plats;
out of the surplus revenue of his office.

SEC. 60C. All plats recorded under the provisions of this
act and all plats now in Plat Books Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 and in
tubes in said clerk's office, shall have the same effect and
validity as if recorded among the Land, Mortgage or Judicial
Records of said clerk's office.

SEC. 60D. Certified copies of the plats recorded as herein-
before provided in this act in said clerk's office, shall be receiv-
able in evidence to the same effect as the original and certified
copies of other records in said office.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the first day of May, 1912.

CHAPTER 673.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, section 384A
of Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
entitled "Baltimore County," as enacted by the provisions
of Chapter 26 of the Act of General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1910.
