tory, or the chief officer of any municipal government, the
Director of the Census shall furnish such Governor, or munici-
pal officer, with a copy of so much of the population returns
as will show the names, with the age, sex, color, or race, and
birthplace only, of all persons enumerated within the territory
in the jurisdiction of such government, upon the payment of
the actual cost of making such copies, and
WHEREAS, It is necessary to obtain copies of the returns
made under said census in portions of the State of Maryland
for the purpose of ascertaining the correctness of the same;
therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of twenty-five" hundred dollars, or so
much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby
appropriated, subject to the order and disbursement of the
Governor of Maryland, for the purpose of enabling him to
obtain such copies of the population returns of the State of
Maryland as made under the twelfth census as he may deem
necessary.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 10.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 33 of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Elections," sub-title "Miscel-
laneous Provisions," to come after Section 117, and to be
known as Section 117A relating to the subdivisions of
election districts and election precincts.
SECTION i . Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 33 of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Elec-
tions," sub-title "Miscellaneous Provisions," to come in after
Section 117 and to be known as Section 117A, to read as fol-
lows :

117A. As soon after the passage of this Act as shall be
reasonably practicable it shall be the duty of the Boards of
Supervisors of Elections of the several counties to examine
the boundaries of the several election districts and election
precincts in their respective counties, and whenever, in their
judgment and discretion, it shall be expedient for the con-
