MAGISTRATES COURTS,— To establish, in the se-

veral counties of this State, and to pre-

scribe their jurisdiction,

Three justices of the peace to be ap-

pointed annually for each election dis-

trict, to be styled District Justices, and

who shall reside in the district for

which they are appointed,

They shall exercise throughout the

county, the duties of justices of the peace,

and also such further duties within the

respective districts as therein provided,

Said justices or any two of them shall

hold at least monthly, a district court at

such times and places in the district, as

they shall designate

Which court shall have cognizance of

all cases now within the jurisdiction of a

single or two justices of the peace, or

where the debt or damages claimed do

not exceed $100,

And of all actions of replevin where

the value does not exceed $100,
