Resolution for erecting Light Houses and the placing
Passed February 8
of Buoys, in the Waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

WHEREAS, the establishment of Light Houses at

Hooper's Island, near the straights, in Dorchester

county, and at Sharp's Island, in Talbot county, and

the placing of Buoys in the Great Choptank River,

near Cambridge, on the shoals commonly called the

Sugar Loaf and Jamaica Shoals, have long been ob-

gation of the Chesapeake Bay; and whereas, it is be-

lieved that the loss of a large amount of property

above mentioned; and whereas, the necessary enact-

the condemnation of sites, have been passed by the Le-
