CHAP. 587

thirty-three, entitled, an act relating to persons of

 

color who are to he free after a term of years, except

 

as to the provisions of the second section of said act.

Court to be first satisfied

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the said court, be-

 

fore it shall authorise the said sale of said negro, shall

 

require and be satisfied by the affidavit of the said Hugh

 

Brown, that he, the said Hugh Brown, did notify said

 

slave of the existence of the said act of Assembly, and

 

that such information did not correct or arrest the vio-

 

lence of his conduct.

 

CHAPTER 386.

Passed May 28, 1836

An act to authorise the recording of a bill of sale there-

 

in mentioned.

Record directed

Se it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

 

That the Clerk of Baltimore County Court, be and he

 

is hereby authorised and required to record a bill of

 

sale from Samuel Reynolds to James Bosley, of the

 

city of Baltimore, bearing date the sixteenth day of

 

February, one, thousand eight hundred and thirty-two,

 

and the said bill of sale when so recorded, shall he as

 

valid and effectual to all intents and purposes what-

 

soever, as if the same had been recorded within the

 

time prescribed by law: Provided, that nothing herein

 

contained shall be construed to interfere with, or im-

 

pair the rights of creditors, or purchasers without

 

notice since the execution of said bill of sale.

 

CHAPTER 387.

Passed May 27, 1836

A supplement to an act entitled an act, to incorporate

 

the Patuxent Company.

Election of directors

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

 

That an election of the president and directors of the

 

Patuxent Company, may be held on the first Tuesday

 

of the mi nth of July next, and the persons who may

 

be then chosen shall be able and capable to act in their

 

respective offices, until the day fixed for holding the

 

annual elections of such officers.
