Baltimore, for sixty successive days immediately pre-

ceiling his application, to apply for the benefit of the In-

solvent laws, to the commissioners of Insolvent Deb-
|

tors for the city and county of Baltimore, and under
|

such application to be discharged, to every effect as if
|
 
|
such applicant had resided two years in this State, im-
|
 
|
mediately preceding his application, subject however,
|
 
|
except as to length of residence, to all the conditions
|
 
|
and regulations applicable to other cases of petitions
|
 
|
to such commissioners for the benefit of the insolvent
|
 
|
laws: and provided, however, that the said commission-
|

ers be satisfied that the applicant did not come into

|
this State for the purpose of obtaining the benefit of
|
 
|
the said Insolvent laws; and that it shall not appear to
|
 
|
the commissioners, that the applicant has been guilty
|
 
|
of fraudulent pretences, or representatives in contract-
|
 
|
ing any of the debts for which he shall be liable at the
|
 
|
time of his application; in which case be shall not on
|
 
|
his said application, be entitled either to a personal or
|
 
|
final discharge.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
|

An act for the benefit of Hugh Brown.
|
Passed May, 1836
|
SECTION 1. Se it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
Authprised to sell
|
Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful, from and
|
Ned Ford beyond the State
|
after the passage of this act, for Cecil county court to
|
 
|
authorise Hugh Brown of said county, the master and
|
 
|
owner of a slave for a term of years, named Ned,
|
 
|
otherwise called Edward Foard, to sell the unexpired
|
 
|
time of said slave to any person who will transport
|
 
|
such slave beyond the limits of this State; Provided,
|

that the said Hugh Brown, in all respects, conforms
|
 
|
to the provisions of the act of Assembly of this State,
|
 
|
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
