LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP 384.

time after five years from the completion of the Chesa-

Landsi limited

peake and Ohio Canal to Cumberland, it shall not be

 

lawful for the said company to have, hold or retain a

 

greater quantity than ten thousand acres of land over

 

and above the lands now owned by the said John H.

 

Alexander and Philip T. Tyson, and which may be

 

subscribed by them to the capital stock of said com-

 

pany.

Right to connect

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall not

rail road

be so construed as to prevent any company hereafter

 

formed to connect any rail road or roads with said

 

rail road.

 

CHAPTER 383.

Passed April 2,1 836

An act for the relief of Elizabeth Kennedy.

Divorce

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That Elizabeth Kennedy, of Baltimore, he,

 

and she is hereby divorced from bed, board and mutual

 

cohabitation, with her husband John Kennedy, of said

 

city.

Fem. sole

SEC 2. And be it enacted, That the said Elizabeth

 

shall henceforth have and exercise all the rights and

 

privileges, and be subject to all the liabilities of a feme

 

sole, to every effect as if she had not been married to

 

said Kennedy, excepting only that she shall not during

 

the life of said John Kennedy, have the privilege of

 

marrying again.

Guardianship

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Elizabeth,

 

be, and she is hereby declared to be entitled to the

 

guardianship of her children by her marriage with

 

said John Kennedy, and of her children by her former

 

marriage.

CHAPTER 384.

Passed May 30,1836

An act relating to Insolvent Debtors of the City and

 

County of Baltimore.

Persons residents of Baltimore city or

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
