river, at Harpers Ferry by the present proprietors of

the bridge at that place, have agreed to construct for

the benefit of the proprietors of said bridge, their re-
|
 
|
presentatives and assigns, for the purpose of ordinary
|
 
|
travel, a carriage or wagonway as a part of said via-
|
 
|
duct, and whereas it might be doubtful whether the
|
 
|
said proprietors although authorised by the said com-
|
 
|
pany could take toll on the said carriage or wagon-way;

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the proprietors of the present bridge at Harpers'
|
 
|
Ferry, and their representatives and assigns he. and
|
 
|
they are hereby authorised to demand and receive the
|
 
|
same tolls for passing the viaduct of the Baltimore
|
 
|
and Ohio rail road company across the Potomac river
|
 
|
erected or about to be, erected, that the said proprietors
|
 
|
are entitled to demand and receive by the original act
|
 
|
passed at December session eighteen hundred and
|
 
|
twenty one, chapter one hundred and nineteen, entitled
|
 
|
an act to authorise the abutment of a bridge on the
|
 
|
Maryland Shore of the Potomac river at Harpers' Fer-
|

ry, and for other purposes; Provided, that the right to
|
 
|
demand and receive toll which is hereby granted, shall
|
 
|
be exercised in the manner only which is expressed in,
|
 
|
and subject to the provisions of an agreement with the
|
 
|
said company, recorded, among the land records of
|
 
|
Washington county, in liber R. R. folio two hundred
|
 
|
and two, two hundred and three, and two hundred and
|
 
|
four.

Am act to authorise the Clerk of Cecil County Court to

record an instrument of writing, therein mentioned,

and make the same valid.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the clerk of Cecil county court, be and he is

hereby authorised to record a bill of sale, given by
|
 
|
Margaret M. Chew, of Cecil county to Levi H. Evans,
|
 
|
of the same county, on or about the twelfth day of
|
 
|
March, eighteen hundred and thirty-two, for negro
|
