CHAPTER 356.

 

A supplement to an act, entitled, a supplement to an act,

Passed May 30,1836

to Incorporate the Susquehanna and Patapsco Canal

 

Company, passed at December Session, eighteen hun-

 

dred and twenty-five, chapter tivo hundred.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Authorised to con-

Maryland, That the Tide Water Canal Company, in-

struct a connect-ing canal

corporated by the act to which this is a supplement,

 

shall be authorised to construct a Canal from the

 

Northern line of the State to some point which may he

 

determined upon, at or near the town of Havre de

 

Grace, on the Susquehanna River, and to connect the

 

said canal with the canal authorised to be constructed by

 

the Susquehanna Canal Company of Pennsylvania, up-

 

on such terms, and subject to such stipulations and

 

covenants as may be agreed upon between the two

 

companies, and the canal hereby authorised shall be of at

least equal size, dimensions and capacity in every re-

 

spect, and shall be counstructed upon a plan not infe-

 

rior to that of the said Pennsylvania Canal; provided.

 

that this act shall be void if the said canal shall not be

 

completed within seven years from the passage of this

 

act.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock of
