CHAP. 295

eighteen hundred and twenty-four, chapter one hun-

 

dred and sixty-four, at December session, eighteen

 

hundred and twenty-five, chapter one hundred and,

 

twenty-five, said at December session, eighteen hun-

 

dred and twenty-nine, chapter one hundred and nine-

 

ty-seven, all of which said acts, are .supplements to the

 

act for the better regulation of the Militia, of the city

Ch. 188 of 1823, and

of Baltimore, be, and the same are hereby repealed,

supplement, to be justice

and that the aforesaid act, entitled, an act for the bet-

 

ter regulation of the militia of the city of Baltimore,

 

passed at December session, eighteen hundred and

 

twenty-three, chapter one hundred and eighty-eight,

 

and. the supplements thereto, passed at December ses-

sion, eighteen hundred and twenty-five, chapter fifty-

 

six, and chapter two hundred and eighteen, he, and

 

they are hereby declared to he in force in the city of

 

Baltimore, except so far as the provisions thereof may

 

be repealed by this act, or be inconsistent with the

 

provisions hereinafter contained.

Formed into two divisions

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all able bodied white

 

male citizens, between the ages of twenty-one and for-

 

ty-five years, residents of the city of Baltimore, and.

 

not exempted by the first section of the act of eighteen

 

hundred and twenty-three chapter one hundred and

 

eighty-eight, shall be and they are hereby formed into

 

two divisions, one whereof shall be the third division,

and the other to he raised, shall be called the first light

 

division of Maryland volunteers.

Third division to consist of

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the third division

 

shall consist of all the brigades now attached to it, ex-

 

cept the first light brigade of Mary land volunteers, which

and to be called the second light brigade of Maryland

 

volunteers, shall constitute the first light division of

 

Maryland volunteers, for which said new division, the

Council shall issue commissions for a brigadier gene-

 

ral, with the usual brigade staff officers as hereinafter
