and its creeks, unless the same he prohibited by law,— -

 

Therefore;

CHAP. 217

SECTION 1. Be it enacted oy the General Assembly of

Catching for ma

Maryland, That from and after the fifteenth day of

turing; forbid

April next, it shall be unlawful for any person or per-

 

sons to catch any oysters in the Little Choptank or

 

Hudson river, in Dorchester county, or in any of the

 

creeks of said river, in said county, for the purpose of

 

manuring land.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That from and after

Purchasing for do, forbid

the fifteenth day of April next, it shall be deemed un-

 

lawful for any person or persons, in Dorchester coun-

 

ty, or for any other person or persons whatsoever, to

 

purchase any oysters for the purpose of manuring land

 

from any person or persons, which said oysters have

 

been caught in the Little Choptank or Hudson river or

 

the creeks thereof, in Dorchester county; Provided,

 

that the person or persons purchasing the same be ac-

 

quainted with the fact that the said oysters, so as afore-

 

said purchased, were caught in the waters of Little

 

Choptank or Hudson river or the creeks thereof, in

 

Dorchester county.

 

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That any person or

persons violating any one of the sections of this act,

 

shall be liable to a penalty of not less than ten nor

 

more than fifty dollars, to be recovered before any

 

Justice of the Peace in Dorchester county, one half of

 

which said penalty, thus discretionally to be imposed

 

by said justice, shall be for the use of the informer,

 

and the other half for the use of the State.

 

CHAPTER 217.

 

An act for the benefit of Ann Leonard, and her infant

Passed Mar.25,1836

sen Jonathan Leonard.

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

Sale of home and lot authorised

That Ann Leonard, of Talbot county, guardian to her

 

son Jonathan Leonard, be, and she is hereby authoris-

 

ed and empowered to sell and convey to any person or

 

persons, their heirs and assigns, a bouse and lot, situ-
