CHAP. 216.

to the said congregation by the said Stephen Ramsburg in and by his said testament and last will.

 

CHAPTER 215.

Passed Mar, 25,1836

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act for building a,

 

bridge over North-East creek, at or near North-East,

 

in Cecil county, on the main road leading from Nortn-

 

East to Charlestown, passed at December session,

 

eighteen hundred and twenty.

Clause repealed

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That so much of the act, to which this is a

 

supplement, which requires the commissioners to fix

 

the cite for the erection of a bridge over the North-

 

East creek, on the main road leading from North-East

 

to Charlestown, he and the same is hereby repealed.

Change of location

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That the surviving com-

 

missioners appointed in the original act, together with

 

Jethro Johnson, who is hereby appointed commissioner,

 

be and they are hereby authorised, if they should deem

 

it expedient for the interest and convenience of the

 

people of Cecil county, to change the location of said

 

bridge to some point higher up on said creek, provided,

 

it shall not be higher up on said stream than opposite

 

the main street leading through the village of North-

 

East.

 

CHAPTER 216.

An act for the protection of Oysters in the Little Chop-

 

tank or Hudson river and its creeks, in Dorchester

 

county.

Preamble

WHEKEAS, it has been represented to this Genera!

 

Assembly, that a most destructive practice is prevalent

 

of catching oysters in the wUters of Little Choptank

 

or Hudson river and its creeks, in Dorchester county,

 

solely for the purpose of manuring land, and the de-

 

struction of the oysters will be inevitable in said river
