Ain act for the benefit of John Sanders, of Somerset

Passed Mar,25,1835

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-

 

bly, that John Sanders has become entitled to certain,

 

negroes in Virginia, slaves for life, which he is desi-

 

rouS should reside in this State, — Therefore,

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

Charles, aged about fourteen years, and negro man

 

Charles, aged about twenty-four years, which saidne-

 

groes are slaves for life, by the said John Sanders, be,

 

and the same is hereby made legal and valid to all in-

 

tents and purposes; Provided, the names, age and sex

 

of said slaves shall be recorded in the office of the clerk

 

of Somerset County Court, within thirty days from the

 

passage of this law; and provided, also, said John San-

 

ders shall comply with the requisitions of the act of

 

Assembly of eighteen hundred and thirty three, chap-

 

ter eighty seven.

 

CHAPTER 207.

 

An act to divorce Susan Foreman, of Queen Anne's

Passed.Mar.26,1836

county, from her husband, John S. Foreman.

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

Divorce

That the marriage heretofore solemnized between Su-

 

san Foreman, of Queen Anne's county, and John S.

 

Foreman, be and the same is hereby declared to be

 

null and void to all intents and purposes, and that the

 

said Susan Foreman and John S. Foreman, be and they
