5 An act to authorise the Levy Court of Frederick county

to erect a Bridge over the Catoctin ered:, at or near

John Keafauver's mill, on the road leading from

Middletown by said Keafauver's mill to Berlin.

Levy authorised

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That from and after the passage of this act it shall and

may be lawful for the levy court of Frederick county,

in their discretion, to levy a sum of money upon the as-

sable property of said county, not exceeding fourteen

hundred dollars, to erect a bridge over the Catoctin

creek, at or near John Keafauver's mill, on the road

from Middletown to the town of Berlin in said county,

and the said levy court may at their discretion con-

tract with any person or persons, to erect said bridge

of such materials, as they in their judgment may think

proper, and may require the said contractor or con-

tractors to give bond, with sufficient security, to be

approved by said court for their faithful performance,

and when said bridge is finished it shall be a free

bridge.
