CHAP. 129

ding, for the accommodation and comfort of the poor

 

of said county.

Annual limitation

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That under the authority

 

conferred on the said commissioners by the first section

 

Of this act it shall not be lawful for them to levy more

 

than the sum of five hundred dollars in any one year

 

for the purposes aforesaid.

Applied

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said sum of

 

money when so levied and collected, shall, by the said

 

commissioners or with their authority by the collectors

 

of the several districts of said county, be paid over

 

to the Trustees of the poor of said county to be by

 

them laid out and expended for the purposes aforesaid;

Bond required

Provided, that before the said sum of money or any

 

part of it shall be paid as aforesaid, the said trustees

 

of the poor shall execute to the State of Maryland a

 

bond in the penalty of three thousand dollars, for the

 

faithful application of the money, and faithful execu-

 

tion of the trust reposed in them by this act.

 

CHAPTER 192.

Passed Mar.24, 1836

An act to change the name of Norris M. J. Slye, of St.

 

Mary's County.

Name changed

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

 

That Norris M. J. Slye, of St. Mary's county, shall

 

be henceforth called and known by the name of Dan-

 

iel Webster Slye, and none other, and shall be at all

 

times, and in all respects entitled to use the name of

 

Daniel Webster Slye, as if the same had been given

 

him in baptism.
