SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said levy courts
|

shall not levy more than three thousand, nor less than
|
 
|
one thousand dollars in any one year; but are hereby
|
 
|
authorised to levy annually, any sum not exceeding the
|
 
|
foregoing limit, that they in their judgment may deem
|
 
|
expedient, until the sum of ten thousand dollars shall
|
 
|
have been levied and collected.
|
 
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said levy court t

creet, judicious commissioner for each election district

in said county, who or a majority of whom, shall con-
|
 
|
tract for and superintend the building of said court
|

house and offices; and the said commissioners or a ma-

jority of them, shall have full power and authority to

|
dispose of the present court house in such manner as
|
 
|
they believe will best promote the public interest, and
|
 
|
apply the avails arising therefrom to the erection and
|
 
|
completion of the court house and offices proposed to be
|
 
|
built.
|
 
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
|

aforesaid, before they proceed to act, shall give bond
|
 
|
to the State of Maryland, with security to be approved
|
 
|
by the levy court, in the penal sum of twenty thousand
|
 
|
dollars, conditioned for the faithful execution of the
|
 
|
trust hereby reposed in them, which bond shall be
|
 
|
lodged with the clerk of Montgomery county court, to
|
 
|
he by him recorded in the records of said court, a cer-
|
 
|
tified copy of which shall be received as evidence in
|
 
|
any court of law or equity in this State.
|
 
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the levy court afore-
|

said is hereby authorised and required to pay over to

the order of said commissioners, or a majority of them,
|
 
|
at such times and in such sums as to meet the engage-
|
 
|
ments of the said commissioners, the aforesaid sum of
|
 
|
ten thousand dollars or so much thereof, including the
|
 
|
avails of the old court house, as shall be necessary for
|
 
|
the erection and completion of the new court house and
|
 
|
offices.
|
 
|
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That in case cither of
|
 
|
said commissioners shall die, resign or refuse to
|
