Passed Mar. 5,1836

An act to authorise the Register of the Land Office of the

 

Western Shore, to issue a warrant or warrants of re-

 

survey and patent, for certain lands lying in Allega-

 

ny county.

Preamble

WHEREAS, it has been represented to the General

 

Assembly of Maryland, by the president, directors,

 

and company of the Bank of the United States, that

 

they have an equitable title to certain portions of a

 

tract of land in Allegany county, in this State, called

 

Western Connection, consisting of two parts, in virtue

 

of a sale thereof made by one Roger Perry, under a

 

decree of the Court of Chancery, passed on the twen-

 

ty-first day of July, in the year one thousand eight

 

hundred and seven, upon a bill filed by the State of

 

Maryland, and others, creditors of a certain Gustavus

 

Scott, deceased.

 

AND WHEREAS, the prayer of the said petition-

 

ers, that their equitable, shall be converted into a le-

 

gal title, is founded in justice, and ought to be grant-

 

ed, — Therefore,

Warrant to issue

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That the Register of the Land Office of the

 

Western Shore of Maryland, be, and he is hereby au-

 

thorised and required, to issue a warrant or warrants

 

of resurvey to the surveyor of Allegany county, di-

 

recting him to resurvey and lay out for the president,

 

directors, and company of the Bank of the United

Lands specified

States, those portions of a tract of land, situate tn said

 

county, called Western Connection, which were sold

 

by a certain Roger Perry, to a certain John Cox, un-

 

der the authority of a decree of the Court of Chance-

 

ry, bearing date on the twenty-first day of July, in

 

the year one thousand eight hundred and seven, and

 

which were conveyed to the president, directors and

 

company of the Bank of the United States, by the deed

 

of a certain James M. Mason, bearing date, May the

 

nineteenth, in the year one thousand eight hundred and

 

thirty, and which said parts are designated by the re-

 

port of the said trustee, Roger Perry, made to the
