CHAPTER 120.

 
 

CHAP. 121.

A supplement to an act, passed at December session,

Passed Mar 1, 1836

eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter ninety-six,

 

entitled, an act to authorize and empower the commis-

 

sioners of Cecil county to build a Bridge over the Big

 

North East Creek, at or near William Phillips', in

 

said county.

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

Levy directed

That the commissioners of Cecil county be, and they

 

are hereby authorised and required at their discretion

 

to levy on the assessable property of said county, the

 

sum of one hundred dollars, with legal interest there-

 

on, from the eighth of March, eighteen hundred and

 

thirty-four, to the time when the said levy may be

 

made, the said sum still remaining due and unpaid to

 

the contractor for building of the bridge constructed

 

under the provisions of the act to which this act is a

 

supplement, and that it shall be the duty of the collec-

 

tor of said county for the time being, to collect the said

sum so as aforesaid assessed in the same manner as

 

other county charges are collected, and to pay over the

 

same as soon as the time limited for collection shall

 

have expired, for the use and benefit of the said con-

 

tractor, to the commissioners appointed to contract for

 

and superintend the building of the said bridge, under

 

the second section of the act to which this is a supple-

 

ment, and that it shall be the duty of the said last

 

mentioned commissioners to collect and receive and to

 

pay over the said sum of money as soon as it is receiv-
